Why are people suing Roundup's manufacturers?

Roundup weed killer is produced by the Monsanto Company, an American agrochemical corporation acquired by German pharmaceutical company Bayer in 2018. Roundup contains the ingredient glyphosate, a commonly used herbicide that has faced decades of public scrutiny about its possibly dangerous effects on human health.

As academic studies linking glyphosate exposure to Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma drew national attention, many victims started coming forward with claims that Roundup caused them to develop Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and other types of lymphoma and leukemia.

Frequently asked questions about the Roundup lawsuit

If you have anything else you want to ask, reach out to us.

If Roundup is linked to cancer, why is it still being sold?

As of right now, no governmental action has been taken to halt Roundup sales. But, in early 2023, Bayer and Monsanto began replacing the original glyphosate formula with a safer “exclusive formula” in all U.S. retail stores. As of 2024, some areas of the country have seen this change take place, while other areas have not yet received the new formula. However, there are currently no plans to alter the formulas used internationally or for industrial purposes.

Do any cancer types other than lymphoma and leukemia qualify?

Unfortunately, no. Only the cancer types listed above are eligible for the Roundup lawsuit at this time. Though some other cancer types such as lung cancer, multiple myeloma, and mesothelioma have been suggested to be possibly caused by Roundup exposure, there is not yet enough academic research or sufficient evidence to support these claims. However, this may change in the future as more academic studies are released to the public.

How much can I expect to win for a Roundup settlement?

The value of your settlement would depend on the monetary value of the damages you’ve incurred and other individual factors. Because these settlement amounts heavily vary for
different plaintiffs, we can only provide you with the average range of damages earned from the Roundup lawsuit. A Roundup settlement will usually fall between $5,000 and $250,000 per case.
