Why are women suing hair relaxer brands?

In 2022, the Journal of the National Cancer Institute (JNCI) found that long-term exposure to chemical hair relaxers could increase a woman’s risk of developing uterine cancer. Based on the results of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences’ (NIEHS) Sister Study, women who regularly use hair relaxers may be over twice as likely to develop uterine cancer compared to women who do not.

After the JNCI’s study was published, women with cancer began seeking compensation against many hair relaxer brands, including big-name corporations like L’Oréal and Revlon. Lawsuit participants claim that these companies failed to warn customers that their hair relaxers were linked to an increased risk of uterine cancer.

How to qualify for the lawsuit

If you were diagnosed with any of the following cancers after using hair relaxer at least four times a year, you may be able to qualify for significant compensation. An immediate family member may also begin a claim for a loved one who passed away.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Those who were diagnosed before 2014 cannot qualify for the lawsuit.
